Cause

When the only email addess displayed is the canonical name, the message is 'Internal Only', meaning the authors and recipients are all internal email addresses.  Exchange will assign the canonical name for the email address within the email itself.  eDiscovery Platform will display the information provided by the email properties.

The eDP display of the email address(es) is derived by two possible data sources.
The first source is directly from the email properties.
The second source comes from the Participants table within Clearwell.

If the 'Use Global Participants and Domains' setting IS NOT checked in Processing Settings, the email address displayed will only come from the email properties. (See image above)

If the 'Use Global Participants and Domains' setting IS checked, the email address displayed will come from the email properties as well as the email addresses in the eDP participants table.

NOTE:  If a Participant is not found during an Active Directory Discovery, that Individual information will not be present in the eDP Participants table; thus unable to display additional email addresses.

Resolution

1. When creating cases, select the box to enable 'Use Global Participants and Domains' when configuring Processing Settings..
NOTE:  This setting cannot be changed once any data has been ingested into a case

2. Schedule a periodic Active Directory Discovery.
