Description

Error Message

In the Data Insight console, under Settings > Remediation > Action Status, outcomes of post-processing actions may be viewed, organized by the numerical ID of the report the actions have been configured on. When highlighting the unsuccessful file deletion action in the top pane, the following error may appear in the bottom pane to the right of the file paths:

" is not enabled for delete files action."

Cause

This issue may be present when the device on which the remediation is being performed is configured in Data Insight with its FQDN, but also configured in the Remediation settings with a standalone hostname, or vice versa.

Resolution

1. In the Data Insight console, navigate to Settings > Filers, and note the exact name of the device against which the report is being run.

2. In the left pane of the Settings view under the Remediation header, navigate to Data Management > Delete Files. Ensure the device name configured therein matches the device name noted in Step 1.

3. Navigate to the Reports tab and run the report in question.

4. Once the report run has completed, check the results under Settings > Remediation > Action Status > [report_ID], as well as on the device itself, to ensure that the file deletions have been completed successfully.

(Note: If some of the files listed in the bottom pane failed to delete, ensure the file count under the section described in Step 2 is sufficient enough to cover all files within the scope of the report's data selection.)

Issue/Introduction

Post-processing actions, specifically file deletion, are shown as successful in the report progress view for a report in Data Insight. However, the files that meet the criteria of the report's data selection and the remediation settings have not been deleted.
