No error message is present.

 

This issue is seen under the following conditions:

1. When either or both of the diagnostic patches for CA/DA 14.2.0 that address the issues described in the following articles are installed:
- Inline images are not correctly displayed in Accelerator Previews 
- Compliance Accelerator Client Preview attempts to open social media links in Internet Explorer 

2. In CA/DA 14.2.2 as a result of the fix implemented for article Compliance Accelerator Client Preview attempts to open social media links in Internet Explorer 

The behaviour of not being able to open attachments is an unexpected side-effect of the code changes made to alleviate the above issues.

 

 

There are no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in earlier versions of the software at the present time. However, the issue has been addressed in the revision of the product specified at the end of this article.

Attempting to open an attachment by clicking on the attachment in a message's Preview in Enterprise Vault (EV) Compliance Accelerator (CA) or Discovery Accelerator (DA) does not open the attachment in it's native viewer. If a native viewer for the attachment's file type is not installed, the prompt to open or save the file is not seen. There are no warning or error messages displayed, nor any issues seen in the Client Log on the Accelerator Client computer or in the EV Event Logs on the Accelerator Server. Opening the HTML Preview of the attachment by clicking on the HTML link next to the attachment does display the HTML rendering of the attachment.
