Error Message

A Dtrace of the FSAReportingService process on the Windows file server will show the following: 

(FSAReportingService)    <2068>    EV-H    {Client.ResetWebServiceLocations}  FSA reporting web service is NOT reachable at https://evserver/FSAReporting/FSAReporting.asmx. Exception : = The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel.
(FSAReportingService)    <2068>    EV-M    {Client.ResetWebServiceLocations}  Failed to get FSAReporting WSLocation from Directory database
(FSAReportingService)    <2068>    EV-M    {Client.ResetWebServiceLocations} Exiting with status False
(FSAReportingService)    <2068>    EV:H    LoadConfigThread() - ResetWebServiceLocations failed.
(FSAReportingService)    <2068>    EV:H    LoadConfigThread The FSA Reporting Web server sent an empty configuration

 

Cause

This issue can occur if the file server does not have the Certificate loaded to be able to communicate with the Enterprise Vault server over HTTPS.  

Resolution

Ensure that the SSL Certificate is properly loaded on the file server.

Note: When a scan begins on the file server, the Veritas Enterprise Vault Event Viewer log will show Event ID: 24624 stating Scan of \\FileServer\Volume started

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to start an FSA Reporting Scan the scan will not start and no Start Time is displayed in the Vault Admin Console (VAC).
