After Upgrade, the logon screen is forced to HTTPS with error: NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

 

Cause

For security purposes, the eDP code now forces the use of HTTPS.
 

Resolution

1. Stop the eDP services

2. Open Clearwell Command and select Action > Generate a Self-Signed Certificate.

 

3. Leave the Self-Signed Certificate settings at default.

 

4.  Start the eDP services.  Open the browser to bring back the warning, in order to obtain the certificate SHA-1 Fingerprint

 

 

5. Copy the Fingerprint to notepad and remove the spaces between the character sets.

 

6. Navigate to the logon page and login with a System manager account.

 

7. Navigate to System > Support features >  Property Browser

Enter:
Name of property to change:  esa.common.security.custom.cert.thumbprint
New value: (enter the value (without spaces) from step 5)

8. Restart eDP services

An optional step may be necessary on client computer browsers.  In Windows Control Panel, open Internet Options and select the Security tab.  Add the server HTTPS URL to Trusted Sites.

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading eDiscovery Platform (eDP) to version 10.1.4, 10.2 or higher, the logon screen is redirected to HTTPS and forces the end user to perfrom extra navigation to access the logon page.
