Description

About Intelligent Review

Intelligent Review is a CA and VAS feature that helps reviewers optimize review time by first focusing on relevant items. Intelligent Review automatically categorizes captured items as Relevant or Irrelevant before presenting those to reviewers.

When new email items get ingested into the supported Enterprise Vault archives at the department level, they are processed for Intelligent Review classification. This Intelligent Review classification result is then used to mark the items as either Unreviewed Irrelevant or Unreviewed Relevant when they go to the review workflow (through Search/Sampling).

CA and VAS sample items from the following types of Enterprise Vault archives for Intelligent Review, and they are either mapped to active Customers or linked to a default customer (if not mapped):

  • Exchange or Domino journal mailbox
  • SMTP
  • Shared

To enable Intelligent Review at the department level, one of the following conditions must be met:

  1. The Department must have an Intelligent Review option selected other than None.
  2. If the Department has the None option selected for Intelligent Review, it must have an active/enabled GSS with an Intelligent Review option selected other than None.
  3. If the Department has the None option selected for Intelligent Review, it must have an active/enabled Scheduled Search with an Intelligent Review option selected other than None.

Error Message

N/A

Cause

When a change happens on CA or VAS side (which is linked to Enterprise Vault archives or Intelligent Review server change), then those settings do not get updated on the Enterprise Vault side during the regular interval checks. The impacted settings are:

  • Multiple Intelligent Review server scenarios where Intelligent Review operations can be dedicated to either one of the servers, any change in the dedicated server happens
  • New customer is created (which impacts the Archive to Customer mapping)
  • Upgrading the customer
  • Change in the Archive mapping between customers

Resolution

Restarting the Enterprise Vault Storage service on each Enterprise Vault server synchs the updated settings and resolves the issue.

Issue/Introduction

If Intelligent Review is enabled in Compliance Accelerator (CA) or Veritas Advanced Supervision (VAS), certain CA or VAS setting changes related to Enterprise Vault archive or Intelligent Review server are not reflected on the Enterprise Vault side during the regular interval checks.
