Each of the above Preview types has been investigated.

Type 1 - Attachments/inline thumbnails

This type of Preview is currently under investigation, with the goal being to display the thumbnail in CA/DA Previews, similar to EV Search Previews.

Type 2 - Inline images

The investigation has indicated the Lotus Notes API does not add the inline images to its converted content in EV, but does add a link to the image which is not usable by Accelerator Previews. As such, there is a considerable technical complexity involved, as any potential fix will require new code be compiled to handle the images during Archiving and Storage and this code will need to be integrated into multiple areas of the EV/CA/DA infrastructure. At this time, Engineering has determined this complex endeavour is not feasible.

There are 2 workarounds:

- Click on each of the image file names to display the image.
- Click on the View original item button at the top left of the Preview Reading Pane to show the entire message with the inline images displayed correctly.

Type 1 - Attachments/inline thumbnails

There are no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in earlier versions of the software at the present time. However, the issue has been addressed in the revision of the product specified at the end of this article.

Type 2 - Inline images

There are currently no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in the current or previous versions of the software at the present time. While this issue may be resolved in a future major revision of the software at a later time, it is not currently scheduled for any release. Domino messages with inline images do not display the images in Enterprise Vault (EV) Compliance Accelerator (CA) or Discovery Accelerator (DA) Previews. Each inline image is represented by a white X in a black box. The image file names of each inline image are listed under the From/To information section in the Preview Reading pane. Clicking on each of these image file names does display the image by itself. Additionally, clicking on the View original item button at the top left of the Preview Reading Pane does show the entire message with the inline images displayed correctly. There are 2 ways, or Preview types, in which inline images can be displayed: Type 1: Images listed as attachments with image thumbnails displayed inline (will be referred to as attachments/inline thumbnails).
Type 2: Images displayed inline with no attachments (will be referred to as inline images). Messages with attachments/inline thumbnails do display the thumbnails as expected in EV Search Previews but not in CA/DA Previews. Messages with inline images do not display as expected in EV Search or CA/DA Previews.
