Resolution

A version of Outlook was confirmed as not being a supported version as per the Enterprise Vault Compatibility Matrix, and as this EV Server was used to process File Server targets only, the customer was advised to remove Outlook. Outlook is not needed for the archival of File Server content.

After removing Outlook, the issue did not re-occur.

Issue/Introduction

On an Enterprise Vault (EV) server configured to process File Server targets, when the File System Archiving (FSA) task starts the processing of the Volume target, the process terminates unexpectedly and restarts with a new Process ID (PID). This issue may occur multiple times during the execution of the Task processing, depending on the number of Volume targets assigned to the Task or the size of the folder structure.
