Enterprise Vault (EV) Audit Viewer fails with error 'Failed to look up Archive in Directory'

From AuditViewer.exe after having added either the Archive Name or an ArchiveID like Archive in the search terms the search fails with:
Failed to look up Archive in Directory. This term will not be added.
Reason: Invalid object name 'VaultEntryView'.
Statement(s) could not be prepared.
Cause
Some code changes introduced in Enterprise Vault 12.5.3 version caused the AuditViewer.exe to no longer being able to use the attribute of Archive as search term.
Resolution
There are no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in earlier versions of the software at the present time. However, the issue has been addressed in the revision of the product specified at the end of this article.
Please contact your Sales representative or the Sales group for upgrade information including upgrade eligibility to the release containing the resolution for this issue.
This issue is resolved in 14.4.1, 14.5 and later versions. Go to the Download Center and upgrade.
Issue/Introduction
It is not possible to use either Archive Name or ArchiveID as a search term within Audit Viewer.
