Description

Error Message

No error messages are displayed.

Cause

During a PST import, items that are in the process of being imported, but fail for any reason, will be placed inside an EV created folder named PST Migration Failed Items.  An example of when this could happen would be if the storage service was stopped during the import. Items in the PST Migration Failed Items folder will not be imported until returned to another folder such as the Inbox. Once the items have been moved out of this folder, the PST can then be imported again. Assuming that the underlying issue causing the import failure has been resolved, EV will successfully import the remaining items out of the PST.

If items are not moved out of the PST Migration Failed Items folder, they will not be imported. An issue has been observed in EV version 14.2 and higher where during the post-migration process, if the option to delete the PST is selected, the PST will be deleted.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in 14.4.2 & later versions. Go to the Download Center and upgrade.

Issue/Introduction

PST's still containing items from a previously failed import will get deleted if the post migration option is selected to delete the PST.
