Description

Error Message

None.

Cause

The presence of certain HTML tags, such as the span tag, in between the characters is seen as a space in the Review Set. These tags can be added by an email client, such as Microsoft Outlook, when the language is changed or when the text style is edited from normal to bold and/or italics. These tags effectively disrupt the Accelerator highlighting processing, causing the word or phrase to not be seen as a contiguous word or phrase, thus causing a lack of highlighting.

The issue was first discovered in CA version 14.3.1, and may be present in other versions up to any fix version(s) listed below.

Resolution

There are no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in earlier versions of the software at the present time.  However, the issue has been addressed in the revision of the product specified at the end of this article.

Issue/Introduction

When reviewing messages in Enterprise Vault (EV) Compliance Accelerator (CA), Chinese/Japanese/Korean (CJK) characters with spaces may not be highlighted as expected in the Preview pane, including highlighting via Hotword Analysis. Such CJK characters may be listed as a Search Term, i.e. entered directly into the Subject or Content field, or entered as Hotwords and/or Hotphrases. Note that Hotword Analysis will not highlight manually entered Search Terms. There are no errors listed in the Review Set or in the EV Event Logs on the Accelerator server.
