Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Password is null or empty

The User Interface (UI) on the Sources & Pre-Processing page reports Scan stopped:


Cause

Under System > General page there is a missing password in the configuration.

Example (highlighted missing password):

Resolution

  1. Include a password for any user accounts that have been configured under System > General tab.
  2. Click the Save button.
  3. Run discovery on the data again.

Issue/Introduction

After adding new data to a case, the discovery process starts and fails rather quickly.
