Cause

This issue will occur if a supported version of Microsoft Outlook is not installed on the EV server where the items are archived.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, ensure that a supported version of Microsoft Outlook is installed on the EV server where the items are stored.

Refer to the Enterprise Vault compatibility list to determine which versions of Outlook are supported for your version of Enterprise Vault.

Issue/Introduction

When users try to retrieve archived items from the EV search page, a credential prompt appears and even after entering the correct credentials, the prompt keeps coming back.

The preview of archived emails on the EV search page shows the error below: No preview of this item is available.
(Error Code: 0x80004005)
