Error Message

A trace of w3wp on the Task (front end) Enterprise Vault server shows the above COM call attempt to the EnterpriseVault.StorageOnline.1 object. The result of the call is an Access is Denied message.

Cause

The Local Users group and/or Everyone groups are missing from the drive that the Enterprise Vault application is installed. 

 

Resolution

Ensure that the appropriate folder level permissions are applied on the system drive where the Enterprise Vault application resides.

Note: The root of the drive contains:

  • Everyone
  • Creator Owner
  • System
  • Administrators
  • Users

  • Creator Owner
  • System
  • Administrators
  • Users

 

Issue/Introduction

Items fail to retrieve when using Enterprise Vault Search / CA / DA / Shortcut retrievals. Note: Any process that depends on StorageOnlineOpns as the retrieval process.
