This scenario can occur if the Enterprise Vault host names are changed during a server migration activity, but the SPN's ( Service Principal Name) of the alias points to the old NetBios name.
In Active Directory, locate the computer object for the old EV server's NetBios Name.
Remove SPN's for the EV server's alias if present.
