The error message associated with this problem was:
137395: 04/30/2024 05:30:12 Not enough disk space available. Please make enough free disk space available on scratch location F:\EVTemp\dataStore_evidence_repo_ahk1dv4dfq_69606140\EV-temp-\MSGs\1\Journal-215277-8162800094412821-batch-0 and try running the task again.

 

Cause

The root cause of the issue was identified as a large EV hold task that was previously performed, resulting in missing data in EV. This large task consumed a significant amount of disk space in the EVTemp location, leading to the error message. 

 

Resolution

To resolve the EVTemp disk space issue, the following steps were taken:

  1. The EVTemp location, set by the property  esa.icp.ev.tempDirRoot, was found to have 1.5TB of free space. This confirmed that the issue was not caused by a lack of available disk space.

  2. The issue was resolved by breaking the EV data hold task down into smaller batches.

The user encountered an issue with the EVTemp disk space in the eDiscovery Platform Collection Module. The primary symptom was an error message stating "Not enough disk space available" when running EV hold tasks. The impact of this issue was the partial failure of EV hold tasks due to reported insufficient disk space.
