Description
This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to exclude a Microsoft Exchange Message Class from a Discovery Accelerator (DA) search.
Solution
Perform the following steps:
Step 1:
- Open the Vault Administration Console (VAC) on the Enterprise Vault (EV) server and right click Directory and select Properties.
- Navigate to Exchange Message Classes to view all the available message classes that can be excluded in a DA search.
Examples: IPM.Activity, IPM.Appointment and IPM.Note.
Step 2:
- Open the DA client and navigate to the Case in which to run a search.
- Create a New Search from the Searches tab.
- Navigate to the Custom attributes section.
- Set the Attribute inclusion option to ALL of.
- In the Free form attribute section:
- Enter msgc into the Attribute field.
- Set the Type field option to String.
- Set the Operator field option to Any.
- In the Value field, enter the message class to be excluded, preceded by the dash or minus character. For example, -IPM.Note will exclude any standard Microsoft Exchange emails.
Notes:
- The default options for the above Free form attribute fields are:
- Attribute inclusion: All of.
- Attribute: has no default value.
- Type: String
- Operator: Any
- Value: has no default value.
- The Value: field can only contain 1 entry.
