java.Iang.NoCIassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class com.teneo.esa.icp.coIIection.ev.SPMessageXMLProcessor

The root cause of this issue is the absence of Microsoft Office installation on the eDiscovery Platform server. Without Microsoft Office, the EV search task is successful, but the items cannot be displayed as eDiscovery leverages Microsoft Office to render the messages.

To resolve this "Sample Preview Error", follow these steps:

1. Reinstall the Microsoft Office version appropriate for your eDiscovery version and operating system.
   1. The installer can be found in a subfolder of the General Availability release of eDiscovery, i.e., 10.2.0.
   2. Install using the silent command line option below, configured for the packages location and your version.

      1. D:\CW\Installer\Distributions\v10.2\packages\Microsoft\Office2019PlusVLK\setup.exe  /configure "D:\CW\Installer\Distributions\v10.2\packages\Microsoft\Office2019PlusVLK\config_cw.xml"

2. Restart the eDiscovery Platform services.
