The error message below is displayed on the Data Management -> Set Microsoft Purview Information Protection (MIP) label page when trying to change the Run Set MIP Action on value to Collector 

Validation Error

One or more fields were empty or invalid.

Please check all fields and try again.

Cause

The issue occurs due to incorrect handling of field validation when attempting to change the Run Set MIP Action on value as it fails to recognize the populated fields.

 

Resolution

There are no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in earlier versions of the software at the present time.  However, the issue has been addressed in Data Insight 7.1 
 
Please contact your Sales representative or the Sales group for upgrade information including upgrade eligibility to the release containing the resolution for this issue.
 

Workaround: For DI 7.0.1, the below workaround can be followed:

  1. Switch to Online mode and enter dummy values in the required fields.
  2. Save the configuration with the dummy values.
  3. Switch back to Offline mode.
  4. Select the Collector for the Run Set MIP Action on value
  5. Save the configuration again.

This workaround ensures that the system recognizes the fields as populated, allowing the change to be successfully saved.

 

 

Issue/Introduction

For Data Insight (DI) 7.0.1, an issue is observed wherein users are unable to change the Run Set MIP Action on value from Management Server to Collector. This problem impacts the ability to properly configure MIP labeling, potentially affecting data management and compliance processes.
