Enterprise Vault eDiscovery Platform

The following steps are applicable if you are installing/upgrading to any of the following eDiscovery Platform versions 10.2.8, 10.3.6, 11.0

  1. Log in to eDiscovery Platform: Open the web interface and log in with an Administrator account.
  2. Navigate to License Settings: After successful login, click on System > License.
  3. Upload the License File: Click the Upload License button.
    1. Browse your local machine for the [hostname_licenseID].lic file.
    2. Select the file and click Open.
  4. Verify: Click Next. The system will validate the file.
  5. Click Next to apply the license. . Once successful, a confirmation message will appear.

License Import Issues

  • Error: "An error occurred uploading your license. Returned status CORRUPT"
  • Solution: Try downloading a fresh copy from the portal.
  • Error: “An error occurred uploading your license. Expected a file upload of exactly one file.”
  • Solution: Try downloading a fresh copy from the portal.
  • Error: “Invalid license file type”
  • Solution: Try downloading a fresh copy from the portal.
  • Duplicate license file:
  • Solution: Please remove any existing license files from the licenses folder (\CQ\Vx.x\license\current) and restart eDP services on your host server. Reapply new license from UI.
  • Error: “BADHOSTID”
  • Solution: Ensure the license is generated for the correct hostname. FQDN and MAC addresses are not accepted.
  • License status is inaccurate
  • Solution: Hard refresh your browser (Ctrl+F5 or Cmd+Shift+R). If the old date still appears, restart the eDP services on your host server.

The .lic file must be applied to the eDiscovery Platform Master server to activate it and ensure continued functionality.
