Enterprise Vault Data Insight

Performing a fresh new install or Upgrading an existing setup:

The following steps are applicable if you are installing/upgrading to 8.0 (or later) or upgrading to one of the following product updates: 7.0.3, 7.1.4, 7.2.3

  1. Start Installation/ Upgrade of Data Insight Management Server: Run the installer and choose ‘Management Server’ as the role
  2. What’s New: Review the features and enhancements. Click Next.
  3. End User Agreement: Review and accept the End User Agreement and its associate BU terms and conditions. Click Next.
  4. Upload License: On the upload license screen, select the .lic file generated for the same hostname where you are installing Data Insight Management Server.
  5. Continue with the installation/ upgrade process.
  6. Verify the new license: On successful installation or upgrade of Data Insight, Login to Data Insight and navigate to the Settings > Licensing. On successful application of a valid license file, you will see the start date, end date, license type and status.

Importing the .lic file in an existing setup: 

Perform the following steps if your Data Insight management server is already upgraded to one of the following versions: 7.0.3, 7.1.4, 7.2.3, 8.0 (or later)

  1. Backup the old licenses: Move the old licenses from the data directory (e.g. C:\DataInsight\data\lic) to another backup folder 
  2. Log in: Log in to the Data Insight Management server as an administrator.
  3. Import the License File: Navigate to the Settings > Licensing. Click on ‘Add/Update License’. Browse the .lic file generated for the same hostname and click OK. The UI will refresh with the new licensing information.
  4. Verify the new license: Navigate back to the Settings > Licensing. On successful application of a valid license file, you will see the start date, end date, license type and status.

License Import Issues

  • Error: "License is corrupt."
  • Solution: Try downloading a fresh copy from the portal.
  • License status incorrectly shown in UI/Events.
  • Solution: Hard refresh your browser (Ctrl+F5 or Cmd+Shift+R). Logout and close the Data Insight console and restart Data Insight services on your management server.
