Cause

The issue occurs because the StorageOnlineOpns process is not able to initialize MAPI. It has been seen to occur in conjuction with an upgrade to Enterprise Vault or a recent update to Outlook 2019.

 

Resolution

The issue can be resolved by uninstalling Outlook 2019 and installing a later version of Outlook that is supported on the Enterprise Vault server. 

 

Issue/Introduction

Users are unable to retrieve archived items from Enterprise Vault Search and the Outlook client add-ins. The issue may affect all Enterprise Vault servers in the environment. The Enterprise Vault servers are using Outlook 2019 on them.
